In this course you will learn and develop the skills to: 1) draft an effective, proactive incident response plan, focusing on mitigation, recovery, risk management, communications, and liability, coordination with law enforcement and other government agencies, and protecting corporate brand reputation; 2) oversee and conduct a "table-top" cyber attack incident response training exercise; and 3) manage a cybersecurity incident response program. This course also provides an understanding of how to design and develop a cybersecurity program to align with private industry and government best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO, COBIT, CIS, SEC, FTC). Topics covered in the course include identifying cyber security incident response capabilities and incident handling, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI); creating cyber security incident response policies, plans, and procedures and ; building a cyber security incident response team (CSIRT) and the roles and responsibilities of the CSIRT's members; implementing effective threat handling procedures; learning from incident response postmortems and implementing improvements within the organization; aligning the cybersecurity incident response plan to the overall business continuity plan; and presenting to senior management and the Board of Directors.
