Required for the Sociology major This course is about the ways that social researchers (especially sociologists, but also political scientists, anthropologists, psychologists, economists, and public health researchers) learn about society. After an introductory section on information literacy, we will learn about the methods social researchers use to create scholarly knowledge about the social world. We will consider the strengths and weaknesses of different methods.
